The use of dietary supplements is increasingly common around the world to improve health and quality of life.
At PAT Group, we have developed a list of manufacturing solutions to protect nutritional value and quality.
Who uses nutraceuticals and why?
The nutraceutical industry addresses nutritional deficiencies caused by various reasons, such as inadequate diets, diseases, allergies, intolerances, pregnancy, or lactation. To meet these needs, many people consume nutritional supplements to improve their energy and physical and, or mental performance. These boosters act as substitutes and provide nutrients to the body in an easy and accessible way through oral intake.
Types of tablets used for nutraceuticals
- Tablets: This format starts to break down when it reaches the stomach or some other part of the gastrointestinal tract. It can come in pill form, oval tablets, rounded, or capsules.
- Chewable tablets: They are designated to crush into particles before reaching the stomach. For this way of use, the taste will be a substantial factor. This format is typical for vitamins and calcium tablets.
- Orally dissolving tablets: Digested by saliva in the mouth. Some calcium and dietary supplements are taken this way due to their effectiveness and ease of administration.
- Effervescent tablets: Dissolution begins when placed in water, immediately releasing carbon dioxide and effervescence in this process. They usually contain different nutraceutical and pharmaceutical elements, such as antacids, cold relief supplements, and minor pain relievers.
Our development and manufacturing solutions pave the way for several new products and supplements.
Diversifying the range and enhancing the nutritional value of products will help industries to reach new consumers in an increasingly competitive market.
